Tai Long Wan, Hong Kong

When you think of Hong Kong, beaches don’t typically come to mind but if you follow the directions below you will find yourself at one of the most beautiful remote beaches I’ve ever been to. My coworker Jade and I happened to be in Hong Kong for a quick weekend and we decided that apart from checking out Big Buddha and the night market we would actually find a beach. The journey is long but the reward at the end of this trek is well worth the adventure.

Directions:

Take the Green line to Choi Hung

Exit C2

Take the 1A bus (about 25 minutes) which will cost $8.9 to Sai Kung & get off when you see the McDonald's

Take a taxi (about 30 minutes) to San Wan Pavilion for 100 HKG

Once you arrive follow the trail to Sai Kung (about 30 mintues)

Once you arrive at Sai Kung Village/ beach you can either take a boat (about 20 minutes) or hike to Hum Tin which is about at 30 minute walk. Once you arrive at Ham Tin walk through the the restaurant then make a right onto the trail that will take you to Tai Long Wan 10 mins walk. You can either hike back or take a boat tickets sold at the restaurant at Hum Tin to Wong Shek then catch the #94 bus back to Sai Kung.

The journey may be long but this was hands down one of the coolest adventures I’ve ever been on!
