Kerala Basketball

My purpose or traveling to India is to go to schools in rural areas on behalf of the NBA and the Reliance Foundation and teach basketball to students. I have been in India for 2 and a half weeks and have visited nearly 20 school so far and I can't put into words how incredibly generous and gracious the people are here in India. I have been greeted by an assembly and offered flowers as well serenaded by beautiful songs. Indian culture invites guest into their school with generous and open arms. The kids have been extremely enthusiastic and eager to learn. They are so full of joy and life that it is infectious. Kerala, India happens to be extremely hot and extremely humid and all of the basketball courts at these schools are outside. Even with the extreme heat and the inconvenience of playing in their uniforms and dress shoes, sometimes even sandals these children couldn't be working harder or listening more closely. These children are a tremendous inspiration to me and I can not wait to continue coaching them and watching them develop.
